Heterozygotes show an increased number of campaniform sensilla along wing vein 3 compared to wild type.

In ptcConf-1/+ wings, the distance between veins 3 and 4 are slightly reduced. The wing margin bristles between these veins are transformed to anterior bristles of the double row. eyes are reduced in size, ocellar and scutellar bristles are reduced in number. Homozygotes die as third instar larvae, and form small imaginal discs. In ptctuf-1/ptcConf-1 flies the development of the central region of the wing is affected, vein 4 partially develops, and vein 3 is thickened. Homozygous ptcConf-1 clones in the wing differentiate vein 3 when close to the posterior compartment and substitute vein 4 for vein 3. Clones close to but not touching the anterior posterior border do not develop vein 3.

fu-like phenotype, interacts with cos and "Cos".

The number of campaniform sensilla along wing vein 3 is dramatically increased when ptcConf-1/+ is placed in a tow754/tow754 background.

The addition of smoScer\UAS.cMa driven by Scer\GAL4C-765 completely rescues the ptcConf-1 phenotypes. The addition of dppScer\UAS.cCa driven by Scer\GAL4C-765 rescues the lethality phenotype associated with ptcConf-1 and partially rescues the wing phenotype - Normal patterning is seen, except in the central region of the wing where only vein 3 develops. The addition of Su(fu)LP driven by Scer\GAL4C-765 partially rescues the ptcConf-1 phenotypes. the lethality is rescued, and the wing develops normally except for occasional costa supplications.
