Description

Deletion of as much as 150bp extending from the site of insertion of the P{A92} in sop^P into the sop transcription unit. The deletion removes all of exon 1 as well as the start of transcription, though the protein coding region remains intact.

RpS2^PRW1/RpS2^PRW1 mutants exhibit lethality at the first instar larval stage.

RpS2^P/RpS2^PRW1 ovaries exhibit a "string of pearls" phenotype wherein all egg chambers arrest development at stages two or three, and also exhibit abnormalities in germline stem cell divisions, abnormal spectrosomes, and delayed egg chamber growth.

Mutants do not display a dominant Minute bristle phenotype.
