Detailed Description

Flies expressing armScer\UAS.cSa under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF have a rough eye phenotype.

The expression of armScer\UAS.cSa when driven by Scer\GAL4en-e16E induces the formation of margin bristles within the posterior wing blade.

Expression of armScer\UAS.cSa under the control of Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 results in ectopic bristles close to the wing margin and some ectopic vein tissue.

The addition of armScer\UAS.cSa (driven by Scer\GAL4sd-SG29.1) to Df(3R)Dl-FX3/+ flies does not significantly alter the Df(3R)Dl-FX3/+ phenotype.

Flies expressing armScer\UAS.cSa under the control of Scer\GAL4elav-C155 show loss of photoreceptor cells. Some ommatidia lose all photoreceptor cells, and most others have a reduction in photoreceptor cell number.

trbdDelta/+ suppresses the rough eye phenotype caused by expression of armScer\UAS.cSa under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF.

The addition of pont5.1 suppresses the ectopic wing margin bristle phenotype seen in armScer\UAS.cSa, Scer\GAL4en-e16E flies, reducing the average number of ectopic bristles seen per wing blade from 11.5 to 5.2. The addition of rept35 enhances the ectopic wing margin bristle phenotype seen in armScer\UAS.cSa, Scer\GAL4en-e16E flies, increasing the average number of ectopic bristles seen per wing blade from 11.5 to 24.5.

Co-expression of armScer\UAS.cSa partially suppresses the wing defects caused by expression of panScer\UAS.cWa under the control of Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 : the reduction in wing size, ectopic wing bristle phenotype and wing venation patterns are partially rescued, but the nicking of the wing margin is not suppressed.

Ectopic expression of armScer\UAS.cSa rescues the wing defect caused by expression of argos::shgi.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC under the control of Scer\GAL4en-e16E to wild type.
