Hairs in wing point proximally. In pupal wings prehairs initiate in the vicinity of the proximal most vertex of the cell and grow in a proximal direction, reversing the wild type situation.

pkD is an enhancer of abnormal planar polarity | cell non-autonomous phenotype of fz25
pkD is a suppressor of abnormal planar polarity | somatic clone | cell non-autonomous phenotype of VangA3
VangA3, pkD has abnormal planar polarity | somatic clone | cell non-autonomous phenotype
pkD is an enhancer of wing | cell non-autonomous | somatic clone phenotype of fz23
pkD is an enhancer of wing | cell non-autonomous | somatic clone phenotype of fz25
pkD is a suppressor of wing | somatic clone | cell non-autonomous phenotype of VangA3
VangA3, pkD has wing | somatic clone | cell non-autonomous phenotype
fz23 clones in homozygous pkD wings almost always show proximal domineering non-autonomy. That is cells proximal, but not distal to the clone show abnormal polarity. Thus the direction of the domineering non-autonomy is the same as local hair polarity. Homozygous VangA3 clones in a pkD background, all show domineering non-autonomy. The non-autonomy is opposite to the direction of local hair polarity.
