Detailed Description
Statement
Reference

BxhdpR26 adults show decreased circadian rhythmicity and circadian power under constant dark, and lack morning anticipation activity under light-dark cycles, as compared to wild-type controls.

BxhdpR26 adults show disrupted circadian plasticity of sLNv dorsal projections: while controls exhibit more axon terminal branches at ZT2 than at ZT14 under light-dark cycles or dark conditions, mutants present similar number of axon terminal branches at (presumptive) ZT2 and ZT14, which are similar to ZT14 in controls.

Mutant animals exhibit an increased sensitivity to cocaine. Mutant adults exhibit a less robust locomotor rhythm in constant darkness than control flies.

Flies have small wings and show abnormal thickening of the wing veins. The size of the dorsal compartment of the wing disc is reduced compared to wild-type. The Bx1 wing phenotype is completely suppressed in Bx1/BxhdpR26 flies.

Additional Comments
Genetic Interactions
Statement
Reference

BxhdpR26/+ fully rescues the adult wing margin defects of mir-9aJ22 homozygotes and mir-9aJ22/mir-9aE39 animals. BxhdpR26/+ strongly suppresses the ectopic apoptosis seen in the wing discs of mir-9aJ22/mir-9aE39 animals.

The presence of BxhdpR26/+ partially suppresses the formation of ectopic anterior postalar bristles seen in mir-9aJ22/mir-9aE39 adults, but has only mild effects on the formation of ectopic dorsocentral bristles seen in these flies.

Xenogenetic Interactions
Statement
Reference

Acute activation of Pdf-positive neurons by expressing TrpA1UAS.(B).cKa under the control of Scer\GAL4Pdf.PU and temperature shift to 30[o]C at ZT12 leads to increased complexity of sLNv dorsal projections at Z14; the same is observed in a BxhdpR26 background.
