Expression of Diap1V85M.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4da.PU partially suppresses the lethality and apoptosis seen in Usp52 mutants, shifting the third instar larval lethality to the pupal stage. The increased apoptotic index in Usp52 mutant larval brains compared to controls is partially suppressed.

Expression of thV85M.Scer\UAS in wing disc clones (under the control of Scer\GAL4tub.PU) in ykiB5 mutant animals increases clone size compared to ykiB5 alone. Co-expression of dmScer\UAS.cZa in this background fails to rescue the growth defect of ykiB5 mutant clones, and growth rates are similar to when thV85M.Scer\UAS is expressed alone in ykiB5 mutant discs.

Suppression of rprGMR.PW by thV85M.Scer\UAS, when driven by Scer\GAL4GMR.PF is complete and stronger than that caused by thScer\UAS.cLa. Suppression of grimGMR.PC by thV85M.Scer\UAS (or thScer\UAS.cLa), when driven by Scer\GAL4GMR.PF is also complete. Suppression of WGMR.PG by thScer\UAS.cLa, when driven by Scer\GAL4GMR.PF is stronger than that caused by thV85M.Scer\UAS, though in both cases the suppression is incomplete.
