Expression of fz1-1-1.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC under the control of Scer\GAL4nub.PU does not have a wing margin bristle phenotype in adult flies.

Expression of fz1-1-1.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC in a stripe along the antero-posterior wing compartment boundary using Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1 non-autonomously reorients the wing hairs of neighbouring wild-type cells in adults so that they point away from region of expression. However this effect only occurs when fz1-1-1.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC is expressed between 14-24 hours after pupal formation (expression was limited to this time period using Scer\GAL80ts.╬▒Tub84B.

Wings expressing fz1-1-1.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC under the control of Scer\GAL4en-e16E lack a portion of their margin bristles in the posterior compartment. 27.1% of wings have a large area lacking margin bristles.

Expression of fz1-1-1.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC under the control of Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1 causes a reorientation of wing hairs relative to the wild-type pattern.

When fz1-1-1.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC is expressed by Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1, wing hairs flanking the expression domain point away from it. When fz1-1-1.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC is driven by Scer\GAL4en-e16E mild wing notching and mild loss of marginal wing hairs is seen.

Coexpression of fz1-1-1.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC and dcoScer\UAS.cKa, under the control of Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1, results in an enhancement of both the planar cell polarity defects seen when only fz1-1-1.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC is expressed and an increase number of ectopic wing margin bristles produced relative to when only dcoScer\UAS.cKa is expressed.
