6% of dgo³⁰⁸ mutant wings display ectopic margin bristles.

(Wu et al., 2008)

dgo³⁰⁸ homozygotes have moderately severe planar polarity defects in wing hairs and ommatidia but only mild planar polarity defects in bristles. The eye defects include misrotation and inverted chirality (average 25.5+/-9.2 % of ommatidia) and symmetrical ommatidia (average 16.9+/-8.8 % of ommatidia).

One copy of dgo³⁰⁸ partially suppresses the wing margin bristle loss seen when fz^{1-1-1.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC} is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4^en-e16E. 15% of wings have a large area lacking margin bristles.

nmo^P1 enhances the ectopic wing margin bristle phenotype seen in dgo³⁰⁸ mutants. The majority of double mutant display extra margin bristles. Although some dgo³⁰⁸ nmo^P1 flies survive to adulthood, many die at larval or pupal stages.
