Scer\GAL4elav-C155-driven expression of Fmr1Scer\UAS.cWa leads to adult locomotion deficit (reduced climbing ability) compared to controls.
Expression of Fmr1Scer\UAS.cWa under the control of Scer\GAL4109(2)80 results in defects in crawling behaviour in wandering larvae; the larvae show an increase in the time percentage spent on linear locomotion compared to controls and the duration of the linear locomotion is increased. The average direction change (direction change is defined as the difference in direction from one frame to the next in the analysis) is reduced compared to controls.
When Fmr1Scer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP is driven by Scer\GAL4109(2)80 the number of terminal dendritic processes in both the ventral and dorsal dendritic arborising neurons (DAs). The lengths of the remining terminal processes is also greatly reduced. This phenotype is 100% penetrant. The major dendritic branches are still capable of extending more than fivefold during larval development, however most terminal processes fail to form or extend even at the first instar stage.
Over expression of Fmr1Scer\UAS.cWa when driven by Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1 causes cell loss in the wing, a decrease in cells in seen between longitudinal veins 3 and 4, as well as loss of the anterior crossvein. Over expression of Fmr1Scer\UAS.cWa when driven by Scer\GAL4vg.PM causes cell loss in the wing - cell loss at the wing margin is seen with 100% penetrance. Expression of Fmr1Scer\UAS.cWa in the eye disc when driven by Scer\GAL4hs.2sev causes an increase in apoptotic cell death behind the morphogenetic furrow. The adult eye lack some photoreceptor cells and pigment cells. Overexpression also leads to the alteration of rhabdomere shape.
