    Drives expression in neurons of the adult mushroom body gamma-lobe, and in ring neurons R4d.

    Scer\GAL4NP1131 drives expression in about 5 ring neurons R4d at 7-8 days of age. Labeled neurons co-express Scer\GAL80ChAT.7.4P.

    Labels a set of 25 embryonic-born gamma neurons on the surface layer of the third instar larvae mushroom body and is already visible at the first instar larval stage.

    Inhibition (using shi1.UAS at 32[o]C) of Scer\GAL4NP1131 cells in adults significantly reduces 5 min (single-trial conditioned) and 30 min (multiple-trial conditioned) aversive taste memory, compared to controls; inhibition of a subset of Scer\GAL4NP1131 cells (restricted using Scer\GAL80Mef2.mb247) does not affect 5 min (single-trial conditioned) or 30 min (multiple-trial conditioned) aversive taste memory, compared to controls.

    Inhibition (using shi1.UAS at 33[o]C) of Scer\GAL4NP1131 cells in adults during testing significantly reduces 3 h aversive memory, compared to controls.

    Inhibition (using shi1.UAS at 31[o]C) of Scer\GAL4NP1131 cells in adults significantly reduces short-term aversive olfactory, but not visual, unimodal memory, compared to controls; inhibition does not affect short-term aversive memory for tested olfactory cues that are associated with conditioned visual cues, compared to controls.
