fngM69 animals that survive to adulthood when grown at 18oC do not exhibit a wing phenotype. Df(3L)ri-XT1/fngM69 animals that survive to adulthood when grown at 18oC exhibit a strong wing phenotype. fng80/fngM69 animals that survive to adulthood when grown at 18oC exhibit a moderate wing phenotype. fng13/fngM69 animals that survive to adulthood when grown at 18oC exhibit a strong wing phenotype. fng52/fngM69 animals that survive to adulthood when grown at 18oC exhibit a strong wing phenotype. fng3/fngM69 animals that survive to adulthood when grown at 18oC exhibit a moderate wing phenotype. Df(3L)ri-XT1/fngM69 animals that survive to adulthood at 25oC do not exhibit a wing phenotype. fng80/fngM69 animals to adulthood survive to adulthood at 25oC exhibit a strong wing phenotype. fng13/fngM69 animals to adulthood survive to adulthood at 25oC do not exhibit a wing phenotype. fngM69 animals to adulthood survive to adulthood at 25oC do not exhibit a wing phenotype. fng52/fngM69 animals to adulthood survive to adulthood at 25oC exhibit a moderate wing phenotype. fng3/fngM69 animals to adulthood survive to adulthood at 25oC exhibit a moderate wing phenotype. Df(3L)ri-XT1/fngM69 animals that survive to adulthood at 29oC do not exhibit a wing phenotype. fng80/fngM69 animals that survive to adulthood at 29oC do not exhibit a wing phenotype. fng13/fngM69 animals that survive to adulthood at 29oC do not exhibit a wing phenotype. fngM69 animals that survive to adulthood at 29oC do not exhibit a wing phenotype. fng52/fngM69 animals that survive to adulthood at 29oC exhibit a moderate wing phenotype. fng3/fngM69 animals that survive to adulthood at 29oC exhibit a moderate wing phenotype.

Transheterozygous fng2/fngM69 females have ovaries showing 0% compound follicles, 11% with long stalks 37% of follicles have abnormal epithelium. Transheterozygous fng52/fngM69 females have ovaries showing 33% compound follicles and 22% of follicles have abnormal epithelium. Where follicles do not include the usual 16 germline cells, those with more than usual germline cells lie next to those with fewer than usual germline cells. Along the length of the entire ovariole the oocyte:nurse cell ratio is normal. The abnormalities of number of germline cells in each egg chamber is caused by defects in the enclosure of germline cysts by somatic follicle cells. The long stalk phenotype is sometimes accompanied by a stalk disorganization phenotype.
