While no photoreceptors form in rasp homozygous mutant eye discs, photoreceptor R8 differentiation is normal in small raspT392 homozygous clones. However, recruitment and differentiation of photoreceptors R1-R7 is defective in these clones.
Adult wings containing raspT392 homozygous somatic clones often have gaps in veins.

However, the ectopic photoreceptor differentiation caused by somatic clones of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PP cells in the eye disc in animals carrying btl::EgfrScer\UAS.T:λ\cI-DD is not suppressed by raspT392/raspT802.
