No retinal phenotypes are seen when vibEP513 is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU.

vibEP513 spermatids are multinucleated.

vibEP513 homozygous mutants are embryonic lethal. vibEP513/Df(3R)Dl-BX12 mutants are lethal during early pharate adult stages.

Larval brains of vibEP513 mutants exhibit frequent polyploid cells but have normal frequences of anaphases, consistent with a defect in neuroblast cytokinesis.

Approximately 61.7% of vibEP513 mutant telophases display abnormal localisation of vesicle-like structures at the cell equator.
