fwd3/Df(3L)7C adults show decreased climbing activity. Mitochondria in the neuronal cell bodies from the larval ventral ganglion show increased length and connectivity (number of branches).

The larval brain of fwd3/Df(3L)7C transheterozygotes does not exhibit significant changes in the number of neuroblasts, as compared to controls.

The glue granules in fwd3 mutant third instar larval instar salivary glands are a normal diameter compared to wild type.

No significant differences are found in the amplitude of evoked EJPs or the frequency or amplitude of miniature EJPs in fwd3/Df(3L)7C mutants compared to controls. Nor are there differences in the number of quanta released by 2Hz stimulation, or in the amplitude or the frequency of spontaneously occurring quantal events of 1b boutons.

There are no significant differences in the number of 1b or 1s boutons in fwd3 mutants compared to controls.

fwd3/Df(3L)7C mutant testes exhibit multinucleate spermatids containing either two or four haploid nuclei accompanied by an enlarged mitochondrial derivative. There is a failure of meiotic cytokinesis. Males are infertile.

fwd3/fwdZ0453 spermatids are multinucleated.

99.3% of spermatids in the testes of fwd3/Df(3L)7C males are defective, being derived from one or more defective meiotic and/or mitotic divisions. Spermatids with 2 or 4 nuclei per mitochondrial derivative are often seen, and spermatids with 3 or 8 nuclei per mitochondrial derivative are also sometimes seen.

sauZ2217/+ ; fwd3/Df(3L)7C, sauZ2217/sauZ2217 ; fwd3/+ and sauZ2217/Df(2L)Exel6007 ; fwd3/+ animals are viable, but sauZ2217/Df(2L)Exel6007 ; fwd3/Df(3L)7C and sauZ2217/sauZ2217 ; fwd3/Df(3L)7C double mutants die during larval stages.

The presence of a fwd3/Df(3L)7C background does not affect the enhanced quantal release found upon overexpression of Frq1Scer\UAS.cRPa under the control of Scer\GAL4elav-C155.

The presence of a fwd3/Df(3L)7C background does not affect the reduced number of synaptic boutons observed upon overexpression of Frq1Scer\UAS.cRPa under the control of Scer\GAL4elav-C155.

Overexpression of Rab11Q70L.βTub85D but not Rab11βTub85D.PP or Rab11S25N.βTub85D partially suppresses the fwd3/Df(3L)7C cytokinesis defect.

Rab1193Bi/Rab11ETo11, fwd3/fwdZ0453 spermatids are multinucleated at a similar frequency to fwd3/fwdZ0453 spermatids.

vibEP513, fwd3/fwdZ0453 spermatids are multinucleated at a similar frequency to fwd3/fwdZ0453 spermatids.
