The combination of dos^R31 and dos^{R696K.hs.2sev} leads to slightly different phenotype than dos^R31 alone. Only a few flies survive and the eyes of those flies are reduced in size and most ommatidia lack one or more photoreceptor cells. In addition, a lack of wing vein structures is also seen.

Comments

The addition of dos^{R696K.hs.2sev} rescues the lethality of dos^R31 but the eye phenotype remains. The addition of dos^{R644K.hs.2sev} rescues the lethality of dos^R31/dos^P115 and the eye phenotype is less pronounced than those seen in a homozygous dos^R31 background.
