Imprecise excision has created a deletion. Cct1 has been deleted completely.
Homozygous Df(3L)Cct1299 (which are also deficient for Cct2) germ-line clones do not give a loss of female germline stem cell phenotype. When Df(3L)Cct1299 somatic clones are made in the follicle cells, no mis-positioning of the oocyte is seen. Eggs laid by Cct1124/Cct1299 females have a shortened operculum.
First larval instar Garland cells of Cct1299 mutants show increased endocytosis, notably in the number of clathrin-coated pits and clathrin-coated vesicles and a subsequent enlargement of the late endosome, compared to wild-type cells. Traffic to the lysosome is not affected.
