RagC-DEY11726/RagC-DEY11726 third instar larvae show fewer neuromuscular junction boutons compared to RagC-DEY11726/+ controls.

Raising RagC-DEY11726/RagC-DEY11726 larvae on a protein-rich diet and/or supplementing their food with ALK inhibitor CH5424802 does not rescue the synaptic growth defect and the number of neuromuscular junction boutons remains low compared to wild-type.

Under normal fed conditions, RagCEY11726 clones in the larval fat body show in a potent decrease in cell size compared with neighbouring control cells. Under starvation conditions, RagCEY11726 clones in the larval fat body have no effect on cell size compared to controls.

RagC-DEY11726/+,bsk1/+ double heterozygotes show decreased number of NMJ boutons in third instar larvae compared to either RagC-DEY11726/+ or bsk1/+ single heterozygotes.

The small underdeveloped wing characteristic for adult flies expressing MitfScer\UAS.cZa under the control of Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1 is significantly suppressed by co-expression of RagC-DEY11726.

The increase in cell area relative to control cells that is seen in cells in the fat body that are expressing RhebEP50.084-loxP is enhanced if the animals are also homozygous for RagCEY11726.
