abnormal meiotic cell cycle | female (with sra619)
female sterile (with Df(3R)sbd45)
sra687/Df(3R)sbd45 eggs are fertilized by sperm as the sperm nucleus can be observed inside the egg. However, the male pronucleus in fertilized eggs is much smaller than that of fully decondensed wild-type male pronuclei seen prior to pronuclear fusion. The sperm nucleus in these eggs becomes arrested in a pre-S phase, premitotic state. Neither sperm asters, nor any organized microtubule system associated with sperm nuclei can be observed in sra687/Df(3R)sbd45 eggs.
Eggs laid by sra687/Df(3R)sbd45 and sra687/sra619 mothers arrest during anaphase of the first meiotic division.
The vitelline membranes of eggs laid by sra687/Df(3R)sbd45 and sra687/sra619 mothers are cross-linked.
