    Detailed Description

    Reference

Flies expressing scylEP22.1 under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PI have reduced body weight compared to controls. Overall wing size is reduced by about 25% in males and 15% in females. This is due to a reduction in cell size; cell size is decreased by about 29% in males and about 21% in females compared to wild type. Clones of cells in the eye expressing scylEP22.1 under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PB are smaller than neighbouring wild-type cells, but no patterning defects are seen. Expression of scylEP22.1 under the control of Scer\GAL4da.G32 results in an increase in mean life span compared to control flies. Lipid levels are significantly elevated in these flies.

The large eye phenotype caused by co-expression of Akt1Scer\UAS.cRa and Pk61CEP837 under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF is suppressed by co-expression of scylEP22.1. The large eye phenotype caused by co-expression of Akt1Scer\UAS.cRa and Pk61CEP837 under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF is suppressed nearly to wild type by simultaneous co-expression of both scylEP22.1 and chrbEP1035. The bulging eye phenotype caused by expression of RhebEP50.084-loxP under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF is not suppressed by simultaneous coexpression of both scylEP22.1 and chrbEP1035.
