Ectopic wing veins are observed in nmoDB24/nmoadk2 mutant animals.

Most neuromuscular junctions at muscles 6 and 7 lack branches containing more than five boutons in nmoDB24/Df(3L)pbl-X1 third instar larvae.

The number of boutons per muscle surface area is reduced at the neuromuscular junction in nmoDB24/nmoP1 third instar larvae.

Quantal content at the neuromuscular junction is normal in nmoDB24/Df(3L)Exel6279 third instar larvae.

nmoadk2/nmoDB24 flies have more cells per given area of the wing blade compared to controls, suggesting that the mutant cells are slightly smaller than wild-type cells. In addition, the wings are consistently larger than wild-type wings.

nmoDB24 homozygotes have short, broad wings with extra vein material along the longitudinal veins, and around the posterior cross vein.

The transformation of wing to notum in AxnA2.Scer\UAS; Scer\GAL4sd-SG29.1 flies is suppressed by nmoDB24/+, although the rescued wings are still small, misshapen and have only some longitudinal veins. The wing rescue is significantly better when nmoDB24/nmoDB24 is used. The severe blistering and size reduction seen in the wings of AxnA2.Scer\UAS; Scer\GAL4ap-md544 flies is partially rescued by nmoDB24/+. This rescue is significantly stronger when nmoDB24/nmoDB24 is used. Wing size reduction and loss of wing margin structures in fz2Scer\UAS.N; Scer\GAL4sd-SG29.1 flies is significantly suppressed by nmoDB24/nmoDB24.
