Expression of nejdsRNA.Scer\UAS.cKa under the control of Scer\GAL4bbg-C96 produces wrinkles and notches in the wing blade.

Expression of nejdsRNA.Scer\UAS.cKa under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 engenders macrochaeta abnormalities on the scutellum.

Expression of nejdsRNA.Scer\UAS.cKa under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF engenders a roughened appearance of the eye.

Heat shocked flies expressing nejdsRNA.Scer\UAS.cKa under the control of Scer\GAL4hs.PU display impaired geotactic response compared with controls.

Scer\GAL4GMR.PF-mediated expression of nejdsRNA.Scer\UAS.cKa results in depigmented and somewhat smooth eyes with individual facets being less distinct, especially in the posterior region.

Scer\GAL4Act5C.PI-mediated expression of nejdsRNA.Scer\UAS.cKa causes some degree of embryonic and larval lethality. All surviving larvae pupate, but die as early or differentiated pupae and none eclose.

Expression of nejdsRNA.Scer\UAS.cKa under the control of Scer\GAL4ey.PH inhibits eye development; in larvae, the eye disc is smaller and contains fewer ommatidial clusters than normal.

Co-expression of P{Sym-UAS-Hsrω} in the Scer\GAL4GMR.PF, nejdsRNA.Scer\UAS.cKa background significantly improves pigmentation and eye morphology, including in the posterior part. In contrast, co-expression of HsrωEP3037 or HsrωEP93D enhances eye degeneration with the loss of ommatidial integrity extending to most of the eye.

More embryos/larvae die when nejdsRNA.Scer\UAS.cKa and P{Sym-UAS-Hsrω} are co-expressed with Scer\GAL4Act5C.PI than when either is expressed alone. Moreover, co-expression of P{Sym-UAS-Hsrω} in the Scer\GAL4Act5C.PI, nejdsRNA.Scer\UAS.cKa background results in eclosing pupae, whereas no pupae eclose when P{Sym-UAS-Hsrω} is expressed alone.
