Increased expression of Src42AUAS.cPa under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF at 25[o]C (but not 18[o]C) results in a significant proportion of shorter CadN-immunopositive adherens junctions between photoreceptor precursor cells R3 and R4 in row 5 ommatidia of wandering third instar larvae compared to controls.
Expression of Src42AScer\UAS.cPa under the control of Scer\GAL4btl.PS results in over-elongated and convoluted dorsal trunks.
When Src42AScer\UAS.cPa is driven by Scer\GAL4GMR.PF, a range of phenotypes is seen in the eye in an insertion, dose dependent and temperature sensitive manner. These range through a complete loss of the eye, through small rough eyes, rough eyes with ectopic bristles to no phenotype at all. When the developing eye disc is examined, ectopic proliferation of uncommitted cells (which usually arrest in G1/G0) in the disc is seen. Mutant eye discs also exhibit increased cell death.

Larvae with expression of Src42AScer\UAS.cPa driven in muscles by Scer\GAL4C57 (at 18[o]C) show significant decreases in mEPSP (decreased quantal size) but do not show significant compensatory homeostatic increases in quantal content (as seen in GluRIIASP16/GluRIIASP16 mutants alone) at the NMJ.
