In males expressing Z600^Scer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4^{bam.T:Hsim\VP16}, 36% of germline cysts differentiate prematurely into spermatocytes at the 8-cell stage rather than the 16-cell stage.

In females expressing Z600^Scer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4^{bam.T:Hsim\VP16}, causes many differentiated egg chambers to have 8-cells.

Expression of Z600^Scer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4^prd.RG1 inhibits the last zygotic cell cycle, cycle 16, as shown by the halved cell density in the epidermal segments of the Scer\GAL4^prd.RG1 expression domain. BrdU is incorporated in S phase 16 in these embryos, indicating that the reduced number of cells is not due to an inhibition of S phase.

Expression of Z600^Scer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4^ptc-559.1 results in wing hairs with disturbed polarity.

Expression of Z600^Scer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4^ptc-559.1 does not prevent the growth of the larval salivary glands.

Expression of Z600^Scer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4^Bx-MS1096 results in wing imaginal disc cells that are much larger and have bigger nuclei than normal.
