In males expressing Z600Scer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4bam.T:Hsim\VP16, 36% of germline cysts differentiate prematurely into spermatocytes at the 8-cell stage rather than the 16-cell stage.

In females expressing Z600Scer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4bam.T:Hsim\VP16, causes many differentiated egg chambers to have 8-cells.

Expression of Z600Scer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4prd.RG1 inhibits the last zygotic cell cycle, cycle 16, as shown by the halved cell density in the epidermal segments of the Scer\GAL4prd.RG1 expression domain. BrdU is incorporated in S phase 16 in these embryos, indicating that the reduced number of cells is not due to an inhibition of S phase.

Expression of Z600Scer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 results in wing hairs with disturbed polarity.

Expression of Z600Scer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 does not prevent the growth of the larval salivary glands.
