Expression of kirreΔ610-959.Scer\UAS.T:Zzzz\FLAG under the control of Scer\GAL4how-24B only restores fusion competent myoblast (FCM) fusion up to the five-nuclear stage in Df(1)w67k30 mutant embryos.

Expression of kirreΔ610-959.Scer\UAS.T:Zzzz\FLAG under the control of Scer\GAL4how-24B or Scer\GAL4wg.PM restores the ability of myoblast founders to attract and adhere to fusion-competent myoblasts in Df(1)w67k30 mutant embryos. However, in embryos expressing kirreΔ610-959.Scer\UAS.T:Zzzz\FLAG under the control of Scer\GAL4how-24B, only a small degree of myoblast fusion occurs and most of the DA1 muscles develop into bi-nucleated precursors.

Co-expression of kirreΔ610-959.Scer\UAS.T:Zzzz\FLAG and kirreΔ103-553.Scer\UAS.T:Zzzz\FLAG under the control of Scer\GAL4how-24B restores the ability of myoblast founders to attract fusion-competent myoblasts in Df(1)w67k30 mutant embryos. However, myoblast fusion stalls after precursors form.
