Expression of CG14619^GD5229 (either P{GD5229}v37929 or P{GD5229}v37930) under the control of Scer\GAL4^αTub84B.PL results in pupal stage lethality and failure of head eversion.

Flies expressing the P{GD5229}v37929 insertion of CG14619^GD5229 under the control of Scer\GAL4^da.G32 are viable and have a normal TNT muscle. The P{GD5229}v37930 insertion results in pupal lethality and failure of head eversion.

Adults expressing Usp2^GD5229 under the control of Scer\GAL4^elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2^Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.
