Neurotransmission across the neuromuscular junctions of third instar larvae expressing Rab11GD11761 under the control of Scer\GAL4C57 shows an apparent decrease in mEPSP amplitude, but not in EPSP amplitude or in quantal content, as compared to controls.

Expression of Rab11GD11761 under the control of CtxGlia-SplitGal4 (Hsim\VP16AD.nrv2 and Scer\GAL4DBD.wrapper.932i) leads to an altered cortex glial morphology in third instar larvae when compared to controls.

Expression of Rab11GD11761 under the control of Scer\GAL4Myo31DF-NP0001 (in combination with a Gal80[ts] transgene to restrict expression to the adult stage) results in significantly increased numbers of mitotic cells in the midgut, as compared to controls.

Expression of Rab11GD11761 in somatic clones under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PI results in cells with short, missing or malformed trichomes in pupal wings.

Flies expressing Rab11GD11761 under the control of Scer\GAL4ninaE.PT which are raised at 18[o]C prior to eclosion and then raised under 12 hour light/12 hour dark conditions show a reduction in the amplitude of the electroretinogram at 3 weeks of age. Defects in rhabdomere morphology are also seen at this age. These retinal degeneration defects are not seen if the flies are raised in constant darkness after eclosion.

Adults expressing Rab11GD11761 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR results in late pupal lethality.

Expression of Rab11GD11761 in the eye disc under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF causes lamina cartridge differentiation defects in third instar larvae. R8 photoreceptor differentiation is unaffected.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 results in lethality before the pupal stage.
