UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of an inverted repeat.
Adults expressing scafGD5263 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.
Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 results in loss of bristles on the notum in 20-30% of the Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 expression domain.
Dcr-2UAS.cDa, Scer\GAL469B, scafGD5263 has embryonic/first instar larval cuticle phenotype
Dcr-2UAS.cDa, Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1, scafGD5263 has adult head phenotype
Dcr-2UAS.cDa, Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1, scafGD5263 has wing vein phenotype
Dcr-2UAS.cDa, Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1, scafGD5263 has adult thoracic sensillum phenotype
Dcr-2UAS.cDa, Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1, scafGD5263 has male genitalia phenotype
Dcr-2UAS.cDa, Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1, scafGD5263 has cercus phenotype
Dcr-2UAS.cDa, Scer\GAL4Abd-B-LDN, scafGD5263 has male genitalia phenotype
Dcr-2UAS.cDa, Scer\GAL4Abd-B-LDN, scafGD5263 has cercus phenotype
Embryos co-expressing scafGD5263 and Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa driven by Scer\GAL469B display dorsal cuticle defects.
Flies co-expressing scafGD5263 and Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa driven by Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 display head scars under the proboscis, loss of wing veins and thorax mechanosensory bristles, as well as male terminal malformations. The male terminalia phenotypes include genitalia rotation defects and partial dissociation of the genital plate from the abdomen. The same male terminalia phenotypes are seen when scafGD5263 and Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa are co-expressed driven by Scer\GAL4Abd-B-LDN.
