    rumi44 homozygous third instar larval wing discs exhibit an increased number of supraalar neurons when individuals are raised at 30[o]C, but not at 25[o]C, of temperature, as compared to controls.

    rumi44 homozygous wing disc clones exhibit an increase in the number of sensory organ precursors at 30[o]C, but display wild-type numbers at 18 and 25[o]C.

    Homozygous clones in the adult intestine are indistinguishable from wild-type clones at 18[o]C. However, at 21 and 22[o]C, the number of intestinal stem cell (ISC)-like cells is increased, while the ratio of differentiated enteroendocrine cells to enterocytes is unaffected. At 25 and 28[o}C, a large increase in the number of ISC-like cells is seen and the ratio of enteroendocrine cells to enterocytes is increased compared to wild type. At 28[o]C, large polyploid enterocytes are no longer seen.

    Loss of rumi in random rumi44 wing clones results in the thickening of wing veins and 'notches' of tissue loss in the wing margin.

    Homozygous clones in the adult thorax show loss of some bristles at 25oC. However, at 18oC, homozygous clones do not show bristle loss, but instead show an increase in bristle density.

    Some rumi44 hemizygotes reach adulthood at 25oC. These animals show a severe loss of microchaetae. However, rumi44 hemizygotes raised at 18oC do not show bristle loss.

    Homozygotes raised at 18oC show a mild Delta phenotype in the wing.

    O-fut1R245AKI and rumi44 homozygous double mutant wing disc clones exhibit an increase in the number of sensory organ precursors at 18, 25 and 30[o]C.

    Adding Dp(1;2)51b restores most microchaetae in rumi44 hemizygotes raised at 25oC.

    rumi44 hemizygotes raised at 18oC and also carrying N55e11/+ show loss of microchaetae.
