ScerGAL4GSG3516 drives mifepristone-inducible expression primarily in neurons and glial cells. Strong expression is observed in the ventral nerve cord in 2-3 cells per hemisegment at the dorsal midline; none of these cells are A1-7 dorsal motor neurons. Strong expression is observed in the ventral nerve cord in ~8 lateral cells and ~20 ventral cells per hemisegment, and in longitudinal intersegmental processes. Strong expression is oberved in a single neuron of each brain hemisphere, and in small clusters of cells with processes in the central brain region. Weak expression is oberved in chordotonal organs, including a variable number of pentascolopidial chordotonal organs (lch5). Weak expression is oberved in the occasional ventral multidendritic neuron vdaA-D (v'md-da) and abdominal ventral multidendritic neuron vtd2 (v'md-td2). Moderate expression is observed at type Ib boutons of most neuromuscular junctions. Expression is observed in CNS surface glia. Nearly undetectable uninduced expression is observed at the dorsal CNS midline.
