        Mdr49KG08611 mutant embryos have a weak germ cell migration phenotype in which about six germ cells fail to associate with somatic gonadal precursor cells.

        Germ cells in Mdr49KG08611 homozygous embryos migrate through the posterior midgut, but many then fail to associate with somatic gonadal precursors. The same phenotype, but with more germ cell affected is seen in Mdr49KG08611/Mdr49δ3.16 or Mdr49KG08611/Df(2R)Exel7123 embryos.
