Indirect flight muscle myofibril structure is aberrant in flies expressing Zasp52KK101276 under the control of Scer\GAL4Act88F.PB : the myofibrils show variations in thickness compared to wild type and Z discs are indistinct.

Females expressing Zasp52KK101276 under the control of Scer\GAL4Act88F.PB are flightless.

The indirect flight muscles (IFMs) of adults expressing Zasp52KK101276 under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR occasionally have bent H-zones and frayed myofibrils are visible. If Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa is also present to enhance RNAi, the H-zones are severely distorted and the myofibrils are often frayed.

Defects in the myofibrils of the IFMs become apparent at 48 hours after puparium formation (APF) in animals expressing Zasp52KK101276 under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa. At this stage the myofibrils are thinner than normal and are not well structured. At 72 hours APF some of the myofibrils are frayed and Z-discs and M-lines are deformed.

Adults expressing under Zasp52KK101276 the control of Scer\GAL4Act88F.PB have defects in the indirect flight muscles, with almost no Z-disc material being present and H-zones and Z-discs occasionally being distorted.
