The expression of ZnT35CKK112697 under the control of either Scer\GAL4CG10962-NP1093 or Scer\GAL4NP3084 does not have a significant effect on the eclosion rate reared under normal diet, but these flies exhibit significantly decreased eclosion rates when fed with zinc (but not copper, iron, or EDTA) supplemented food, as compared to control flies.

The formation of Malpighian tubule stones in third instar larvae induced by the expression of ryHMS02827 under the control of Scer\GAL4CG10962-NP1093 is not suppressed by the co-expression of ZnT35CKK112697.

Expression of ZnT35CKK112697 suppresses the malpighian tubule concretions seen when ryGD8894 is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4da.PU. The reduced lifespan is also partially suppressed.

Co-expression of ZnT35CKK112697 results in an increase in whole fly zinc levels compared to flies expressing ryGD8894 under the control of Scer\GAL4da.PU. The levels of other metals remain unchanged.

The morphological and pigmentation defects in the adult eye seen upon expression of ZnT86DScer\UAS.cDa under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.long do not change upon co-expression of ZnT35CKK112697 RNAi.

The adult eye phenotype seen upon expression of ZnT86DScer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP-EGFP under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.long can be partially modified by co-expression of ZnT35CKK112697 RNAi: the morphological defects are unchanged but the pigmentation loss is mildly ameliorated.

The morphological and pigmentation defects in the adult eye seen upon expression of Zip71BScer\UAS.T:Zzzz\FLAG under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.long are strongly ameliorated by co-expression of ZnT35CKK112697.
