Expressing apolppHM05157 under the control of Scer\GAL4DcG leads to third instar larval fat cells exhibiting an increase in the size and a decrease in the density of peripheral lipid droplets, compared to controls; there are no changes in cytoplasmic medial lipid droplet size or density.
Expression of apolppHM05157 under the control of Scer\GAL4Lsp2.3.1 (using tub-Gal80[ts] to limit expression to adulthood) results in highly increased cell death in vitellogenic stage follicles (but not germaria) and also increases the rate of loss of the germline stem cells over time.
