DL1 olfactory projection neuron clones expressing TbceScer\UAS.cJa under the control of Scer\GAL4GH146 do not exhibit defects in dendrite or axon morphology.

Larvae expressing tbceScer\UAS.cJa under the control of either Scer\GAL4elav-C155 or Scer\GAL4C57 show normal rhythmic peristalsis and crawling activity. However, the larvae perform less well in a roll-over assay than control flies, having a significantly increased roll-over time.

Expression of tbceScer\UAS.cJa under the control of Scer\GAL4elav-C155 has no effect on synaptic branching, bouton number or average bouton area at the third larval instar neuromuscular junction (NMJ).

Expression of tbceScer\UAS.cJa under the control of Scer\GAL4C57 results in an increase in synaptic branching and bouton number and a decrease in average bouton area at the third larval instar NMJ compared to controls.

Expression of tbceScer\UAS.cJa under the control of Scer\GAL4elav-C155 results in an increase in the amplitude of excitatory junction potentials (EJPs) and in the amplitude miniature EJPs (mEJPs) at the NMJ compared to controls. The frequency of mEJPS is normal. Quantal content is elevated.

Expression of tbceScer\UAS.cJa under the control of Scer\GAL4C57 has no effect on the amplitude of excitatory junction potentials (EJPs) or the amplitude or frequency of miniature EJPs (mEJPs) at the NMJ compared to controls. Quantal content is normal.

Expression of tbceScer\UAS.cJa under the control of Scer\GAL4elav-C155 results in a continuous and smooth microtubule cytoskeleton extending to the very tip of the NMJ synaptic terminal.

Expression of tbceScer\UAS.cJa under the control of Scer\GAL4C57 increases the microtubule network in muscles, with a prominent perinuclear enrichment.

When tbceScer\UAS.cJa and spasScer\UAS.cTa are co-expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4C57, the microtubule phenotype in the muscles is similar to that of animals expressing spasScer\UAS.cTa alone under the control of Scer\GAL4C57.

spas5.75 partly suppresses the microtubule phenotype seen in the muscles of animals expressing tbceScer\UAS.cJa under the control of Scer\GAL4C57.
