Doubly mutant rno^K and Rbf^15aΔ somatic clones generated during eye development result in shiny eye differentiation defects in the adult eye. Pupal eye discs are largely devoid of bristle cells, and adult eyes lack bristles.

The shiny-eye phenotype observed in rno^K, Rbf^15aΔ mutant somatic clones is not enhanced by Nc¹.
