The adulthood-only expression of dppJF01090 (using Gal80[ts] for the temporal regulation of expression) under the control of Scer\GAL4esg.PU, but not of Scer\GAL4Acp26Aa.PC, leads to a significant decrease in the size of secondary cell nuclei, but not of main cell nuclei, as compared to controls. Adulthood-only expression under the combined control of Scer\GAL4dsx.KI and Gal80[ts] leads to a small but significant decrease in the number of non-acidic secretory vesicles, but has no effect in the number of acidic secretory vesicles nor in the size of the largest multivesicular body/lysosome within accessory gland secondary cells, as compared to controls; this is associated with a severe decrease in the secretion of (CD63-positive) exosomes into the accessory gland lumen.
Expression of dppJF01090 under the control of Scer\GAL4A9 produces weak wing phenotypes in males. Females completely lack a phenotype.
Expression of dppJF01090 under the control of Scer\GAL4en-e16E results in loss of wing veins. The phenotype is more severe in males than females.

The tumorigenic accumulation of germline stem cell-like cells in germaria, characteristic for females expressing either ph-pGD17398 alone or PscGD4481 and Su(z)2GD16388 simultaneously under the control of Scer\GAL4C587 (together with tub-Gal80[ts] to limit the time of expression to adulthood) is strongly suppressed by co-expression of dppJF01090.
The increased number of spectrosome-containing cells in germaria characteristic for adult females expressing Cul2GD8913 RNAi under the control of the Scer\GAL4ptc.PU can be partially rescued by combination with either dpphr92, dpphr56 or tkv7 in a heterozygous state or by knocking-down dpp by co-expression of either dppJF01090 or dppJF01091 RNAi.
Co-expression of dppJF01090 with Su(var)3-3NIG.17149R under the control of Scer\GAL4C587 strongly suppresses the supernumerary germline stem cell phenotype resulting from the expression of Su(var)3-3NIG.17149R.
