The adulthood-only expression of dpp^JF01090 (using Gal80[ts] for the temporal regulation of expression) under the control of Scer\GAL4^esg.PU, but not of Scer\GAL4^Acp26Aa.PC, leads to a significant decrease in the size of secondary cell nuclei, but not of main cell nuclei, as compared to controls. Adulthood-only expression under the combined control of Scer\GAL4^dsx.KI and Gal80[ts] leads to a small but significant decrease in the number of non-acidic secretory vesicles, but has no effect in the number of acidic secretory vesicles nor in the size of the largest multivesicular body/lysosome within accessory gland secondary cells, as compared to controls; this is associated with a severe decrease in the secretion of (CD63-positive) exosomes into the accessory gland lumen.

Expression of dpp^JF01090 under the control of Scer\GAL4^A9 produces weak wing phenotypes in males. Females completely lack a phenotype.

The tumorigenic accumulation of germline stem cell-like cells in germaria, characteristic for females expressing either ph-p^GD17398 alone or Psc^GD4481 and Su(z)2^GD16388 simultaneously under the control of Scer\GAL4^C587 (together with tub-Gal80[ts] to limit the time of expression to adulthood) is strongly suppressed by co-expression of dpp^JF01090.
