Adult females expressing Cul2GD8913 RNAi under the control of the Scer\GAL4ptc.PU driver display defects in egg chamber development with extra nurse cells compared to controls.

Majority of germaria from adult females expressing Cul2GD8913 RNAi under the control of the Scer\GAL4ptc.PU display increased number of spectrosome-containing cells and cells recognized by activated Casp3 antibody compared to controls.

Young females expressing Cul2GD8913 RNAi under the control of the Scer\GAL4ptc.PU are partially sterile, while older females almost always lack ovaries altogether.

Adult females expressing Cul2GD8913 RNAi under the control of either the Scer\GAL4dpp.PU or the Scer\GAL4en.PU driver display weak germaria phenotype (increase in the number of spectrosome containing cells compared to controls) with low penetrance. Stronger phenotype with higher penetrance is seen with the Scer\GAL4bab1-Gal4.

Adult females expressing Cul2GD8913 RNAi under the control of the Scer\GAL4tj.PU driver have no ovaries.

Adult females expressing Cul2GD8913 RNAi under the control of the Scer\GAL4C587 driver show no abnormalities either in germaria development or in the total number of somatic cells they contain.

The number of cap cells in germaria from adult females expressing Cul2GD8913 RNAi under the control of the Scer\GAL4ptc.PU does not change compared to controls.

Flies expressing Cul2GD8913 RNAi under the control of the Scer\GAL4ptc.PU die if reared at 29oC.

Larvae expressing Cul-2GD8913 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PU show a significant increase in bouton number (counted from muscles 6 and 7 of abdominal segment A2), compared to controls.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL41407 results in an increase in the average size of neuroblasts in the larval brain compared to controls.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL41407 results in shorter neuroblast lineages (less daughter cells per neuroblast) in the larval brain compared to controls.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL41407 results in mild defects in the shape of neuroblasts in the larval brain.

Adults expressing Cul2GD8913 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR results in early pupal lethality.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 may result in lethality, depending on the insertion line used.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 results in loss of bristles on the notum in 30-40% of the Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 expression domain.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 results in the absence of 60-70% of the Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237-expressing area of the notum.

The increased number of spectrosome-containing cells in germaria characteristic for adult females expressing Cul2GD8913 RNAi under the control of the Scer\GAL4ptc.PU can be partially rescued by combination with either dpphr92, dpphr56 or tkv7 in a heterozygous state or by knocking-down dpp by co-expression of either dppJF01090 or dppJF01091 RNAi.

Co-expression of Cul-2GD8913 decreases the number of boutons seen by Scer\GAL4elav.PU-mediated expression of Cul-5EY00051 to levels seen by expression of Cul-2GD8913 alone.

Xenogenetic Interactions

Reference

Adults co-expressing Hsap\ATXN3tr.Q27.UAS.Tag:HA and Cul2GD8913 under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU do not present any obvious eye defects.
