Polytene chromosomes of mutant larvae appear normal.

Mutant third instar larvae have slightly smaller brains than controls, and show a higher number of cells with of EdU incorporation.

Under-replication of polytene chromosomes is seen in Mcm10d08029/Mcm10Scim19 larvae.

Homozygous, heterozygous, hemizygous and Mcm10d08029/Mcm10Scim19 larvae have a smaller fraction of cells in mitosis in the brain than controls.

Nuclear divisions during cycles 10-12 are asynchronous in homozygous embryos laid by homozygous females. Anaphase bridges are seen in 29% of the embryos in cell cycles 10-12.

Mutant egg chambers show temporal defects in decondensation of the nurse cell chromosomes; nurse cell nuclei in stage 7 mutant egg chambers are heterogeneous with respect to chromosome decondensation with some nuclei fully decondensed and other persisting in the five-blob stage (this persistence is seen in nearly 75% of egg chambers).

Mcm10Scim19 dominantly suppresses position effect variegation of variegating dp allele.

Mcm10Scim19 mutants show defective chromosome condensation.

Dominantly decreases transmission of Dp(1;f)J21A to offspring to 17%.
