ScerGAL4sfl-NP2002 is strongly expressed in a projection neuron that arborizes in the larval antennal lobe glomerulus 85c, and in a dorsolateral mushroom body calyx glomerulus designated as L10. In a subset of the samples examined, a second projection neuron weakly expresses ScerGAL4sfl-NP2002, which arborizes in an anterodorsal region of the larval mushroom body calyx.
Inhibition (using Ctet\TeTxLCTNT.UAS) of Scer\GAL4NP2002 neurons in larvae results in a significant reduction in the time they spend in the vicinity of an appetitive odor, compared to controls.
