The expression of hopHMS00761 under the control of Scer\GAL4sd.PU leads to vestigial or absent wings and to the reciprocal formation of ectopic mesonotum structures, as compared to controls. Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4en-e16E (and Dicer-2, for more efficient RNAi) leads to a severe size reduction of the third instar larval wing disc posterior compartment, as compared to controls.

The expression of hopHMS00761 under the control of either Scer\GAL4hh.PU or Scer\GAL4ci.PU leads to a severe size reduction of both the mature leg disc and mature haltere disc posterior compartments, as compared to controls.

Expression of hopHMS00761 under the control of Scer\GAL4C587 results in germaria with fewer spectrosome-containing cells, as compared to controls.

Females heterozygous for hopHMS00761 and Scer\GAL4mat.αTub67C.T:Hsim\VP16 crossed to hopHMS00761 males results in: 0% hatching; egg/embryonic phenotype: hop segmentation defects; maternal effect.
