seqC022 homozygotes and seqZ1241/seqC022 mutants exhibit branch bifurcations at the tip of the ganglionic branches. Four to seven ganglionic branches exhibit lumenal bifurcations per embryo at stage 15 and in seven to twelve ganglionic branches per embryo at stage 16. These cells adopt a terminal fate and develop their own terminal lumen, causing the observed luminal bifurcations.
seqC022 is rescued by seqUAS.cBa/Scer\GAL469B
seqC022/seqZ1241 is rescued by seqUAS.cBa/Scer\GAL469B
seqC022/seqZ1241 is partially rescued by seqUAS.cBa/Scer\GAL4sim.PS
seqC022 is partially rescued by seqUAS.cBa/Scer\GAL4sim.PS
Expression of seqScer\UAS.cBa in the ectoderm under the control of Scer\GAL469B rescues the ganglionic branch bifurcation phenotype found in seqC022 and seqZ1241/seqC022 mutants.
Expression of seqScer\UAS.cBa in midline precursors and glia of seqC022 and seqZ1241/seqC022 mutants under the control of Scer\GAL4sim.PS accomplishes approximately 50% rescue with those embryos that were not fully rescued showing a considerable attenuation of the phenotype.
