Pp2B-14DKO CanA-14FKO double mutant flies are lethal at the larval stage.

Mature oocytes generated from Pp2B-14DKO CanA-14FKO double mutant germline clones have a normal metaphase I chromosome configuration. Mothers bearing Pp2B-14DKO CanA-14FKO mutant germline clones are sterile and the eggs exhibit a meiotic arrested phenotype at anaphase I.

Expression of Pp2B-14DScer\UAS.P\T.cTa under the control of Scer\GAL4nos.UTR.T:Hsim\VP16 rescues the meiotic defects in 97.3% of Pp2B-14DKO CanA-14FKO double mutant eggs.

Expression of Pp2B-14DDN.Scer\UAS.P\T under the control of Scer\GAL4nos.UTR.T:Hsim\VP16 fails to rescue the meiotic defects in 97.3% of Pp2B-14DKO CanA-14FKO double mutant eggs.
