Expression of Pdk1Scer\UAS.T:Zzzz\FLAG under the control of either Scer\GAL4VGlut-OK371 or Scer\GAL4tub.PU increases the absolute bouton number at the third larval instar neuromuscular junction.

Expression of Pdk1Scer\UAS.T:Zzzz\FLAG under the control of Scer\GAL4VGlut-OK371 results in an increase in the number of active zones, an increase in the total synaptic area and a small increase in active zone density at the third larval instar neuromuscular junction.
