Description

Imprecise excision of P{EPgy2}TolloEY01776 generates a 3068bp deletion starting from 1508bp upstream of the start codon and extending downstream, but also containing a 7bp insertion (CGAGCAA) at the break point.

Septic injury of Tollo58 mutant flies results in activation of the innate immune response.

Tollo58 mutant flies exhibit a slight defect in adult leg formation. They have a normal number of segments but the legs are bent between the tibia and tarsus and thus twisted towards other directions. Flies with a stronger phenotype exhibit malformed femurs and double bending in both tibia and tarsus. The penetrance of this leg phenotype is approximately 20% in Tollo58/Tollo59 mutants.
