Animals homozygous for myo^Δ1 show no developmental delay through the third instar larval stage compared to wild-type. However, mutant larvae pre-pupate prematurely during the third instar larval stage and are developmentally arrested before head eversion.

Comments

When myo^Scer\UAS.cAa is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4^myo.PA in homozygous myo^Δ1 animals, the mutants grow into pharate or eclosed adults. The mushroom body undergoes normal remodeling in the rescued animals.
