Expression of Tat^HMC03212 under the control of Scer\GAL4^Tub.PU (in combination with tub-Gal80[ts] to restrict expression to adult stages) in flies that are fed food supplemented with tyrosine leads to a decrease in their lifespan. Expression of Tat^HMC03212 under the control of Scer\GAL4^Tub.PU (in combination with tub-Gal80[ts] to restrict expression to adult stages) leads to an increase in the survival of flies which are exposed to oxidative damage causing chemical, paraquat.

Expression of Tat^HMC03212 under the control of Scer\GAL4^elav.PU (in combination with tub-Gal80[ts] to restrict expression to adult stages) leads to an increase in the lifespan of flies.
