TpiK11M/TpiT73R, TpiK11M/TpiG74E and TpiK11M/TpiT73R.G74E exhibit an increase in heat sensitivity, shown by the significant decrease in the time until paralysis after a temperature shift to 38[o]C, as compared to controls. TpiK11M/TpiG74E and TpiK11M/TpiT73R.G74E transheterozygous adults exhibit a significant decrease in lifespan, whereas TpiK11M/TpiT73R transheterozygous adults exhibit a significant increase in lifespan, as compared to controls. TpiG74E/TpiK11M transheterozygous adults, but not TpiK11M/TpiT73R and TpiT73R.G74E/TpiK11M transheterozygous adults, exhibit an increase in bang sensitivity, shown by a significant increase in recovery time from mechanical stress, as compared to controls.
TpiK11M/TpiT73R transheterozygous third instar larval neuromuscular junction neurons also exhibit a significant decrease in endocytosis at 38[o]C temperature conditions, as compared to controls.
