Expression of Hsap\SNCAIPScer\UAS.cLa under the control of Scer\GAL4Ddc.PU does not result in any neurodegeneration phenotypes, as assessed by survival, climbing assays, and dopaminergic neuron degeneration.
Expression of Hsap\SNCAIPScer\UAS.cLa under the control of either Scer\GAL4fru.P1.D, Scer\GAL4TPH.PL, Scer\GAL4Ddc.PL, Scer\GAL4elav.PU or Scer\GAL4Act5C.PU results in adult flies with significantly increased body weight compared to controls at 10 days of age. Expression of Hsap\SNCAIPScer\UAS.cLa under the control of either Scer\GAL4fru.P1.D, Scer\GAL4TPH.PL, Scer\GAL4Ddc.PL or Scer\GAL4elav.PU significantly increases adult food intake compared to controls in a CAFE assay.
Climbing ability and circadian locomotor activity of adults expressing Hsap\SNCAIPScer\UAS.cLa under the control of Scer\GAL4Ddc.PL is normal.
Flies expressing Hsap\SNCAIPScer\UAS.cLa under the control of either Scer\GAL4TPH.PL, Scer\GAL4Ddc.PL, Scer\GAL4elav.PU or Scer\GAL4Act5C.PU show increased resistance to starvation compared to controls. This effect is more evident in females than in males.
