Expression of Hsap\SNCAIPScer\UAS.cLa under the control of Scer\GAL4Ddc.PU does not result in any neurodegeneration phenotypes, as assessed by survival, climbing assays, and dopaminergic neuron degeneration.

Expression of Hsap\SNCAIPScer\UAS.cLa under the control of either Scer\GAL4fru.P1.D, Scer\GAL4TPH.PL, Scer\GAL4Ddc.PL, Scer\GAL4elav.PU or Scer\GAL4Act5C.PU results in adult flies with significantly increased body weight compared to controls at 10 days of age. The effect is seen in both males and females.

Expression of Hsap\SNCAIPScer\UAS.cLa under the control of either Scer\GAL4Ilp2.PU or Scer\GAL4ppl.PU does not significantly increase the body weight of 10 day old adults compared to controls.

Expression of Hsap\SNCAIPScer\UAS.cLa under the control of Scer\GAL4Ddc.PL significantly increases total triacylglycerol content in adult flies, but does not alter glycogen content.

Third instar larvae expressing Hsap\SNCAIPScer\UAS.cLa under the control of Scer\GAL4Ddc.PL have an increased fat content compared to controls (measured using a buoyancy-based density assay).

Fat body cells of third instar larvae expressing Hsap\SNCAIPScer\UAS.cLa under the control of either Scer\GAL4TPH.PL, Scer\GAL4Ddc.PL or Scer\GAL4Act5C.PU are significantly increased in size compared to control cells. Lipid droplets within the fat body cells are increased in size compared to wild type in third instar larvae expressing Hsap\SNCAIPScer\UAS.cLa under the control of Scer\GAL4Ddc.PL.

Third instar larvae expressing Hsap\SNCAIPScer\UAS.cLa under the control of either Scer\GAL4TPH.PL, Scer\GAL4Ddc.PL or Scer\GAL4Act5C.PU have a normal body length.

Expression of Hsap\SNCAIPScer\UAS.cLa under the control of either Scer\GAL4fru.P1.D, Scer\GAL4TPH.PL, Scer\GAL4Ddc.PL or Scer\GAL4elav.PU significantly increases adult food intake compared to controls in a CAFE assay.

Climbing ability and circadian locomotor activity of adults expressing Hsap\SNCAIPScer\UAS.cLa under the control of Scer\GAL4Ddc.PL is normal.

Flies expressing Hsap\SNCAIPScer\UAS.cLa under the control of either Scer\GAL4TPH.PL, Scer\GAL4Ddc.PL, Scer\GAL4elav.PU or Scer\GAL4Act5C.PU show increased resistance to starvation compared to controls. This effect is more evident in females than in males.
