Imprecise excision of the progenitor P{GawB}Ggt-1NP0136 insertion, resulting in a 1523bp deletion in Ggt-1.
Homozygous larvae show significantly increased green-light avoidance compared to controls, but blue-light avoidance is normal in the mutant larvae. This phenotype can be suppressed by feeding with glutamic acid exceeding concentrations of 20μM.
Ggt-1Δ1523 is a non-suppressor of abnormal behavior | larval stage phenotype of Rh61
The reduced green-light avoidance seen in Rh61 larvae is not altered if the larvae are also mutant for Ggt-1Δ1523.
Ggt-1Δ1523 is rescued by Scer\GAL4Act.PU/Ggt-1UAS.cLa
Ggt-1Δ1523 is rescued by Scer\GAL4c42/Ggt-1UAS.cLa
Ggt-1Δ1523 is rescued by Scer\GAL4Alp4-c232/Ggt-1UAS.cLa
Ggt-1Δ1523 is not rescued by Scer\GAL4elav.PU/Ggt-1UAS.cLa
Ggt-1Δ1523 is not rescued by Scer\GAL4repo.PU/Ggt-1UAS.cLa
Ggt-1Δ1523 is not rescued by Scer\GAL4NP3609/Ggt-1UAS.cLa
Expression of Ggt-1Scer\UAS.cLa under the control of either Scer\GAL4Act.PU, Scer\GAL4c42 or Scer\GAL4Aph-4-c232 fully rescues the increased green-light avoidance seen in Ggt-1Δ1523 larvae compared to controls.
Expression of Ggt-1Scer\UAS.cLa under the control of either Scer\GAL4elav.PU, Scer\GAL4repo.PU or Scer\GAL4Gug-NP3609 does not rescue the increased green-light avoidance seen in Ggt-1Δ1523 larvae compared to controls.
