Silencing Scer\GAL4^VT045154-expressing neurons renders virgin females sexually unreceptive to males. Elevated levels of egg laying are seen. Activating these neurons has no effect effect on virgin receptivity, but drastically increases receptivity after mating compared with controls.

Making Scer\GAL4^VT045154-expressing neurons insensitive to sex peptide by expressing SPR^GD3236 has no effect on the sexual receptivity of virgin females to males.
